Welcome to the kingdom citizens blog!
A strong identity that is rooted in Christ gives us confidence to stand firm in our biblical values, even in the face of adverse challenges.
Discovering who we are in Jesus Christ, establishes the foundation for every structure our lives are built on. Belonging to a Kingdom means that we abide within the governing principles of our Sovereigns authority. What makes us a true citizen isn't just our proximity within the confines of our King's domain but our recognition as inhabitants of the promise of God by God Himself.
Kingdom citizens bear fruit native to Christ's Word and works. Obedience is the byproduct of our love for our Messianic-King. Without evidence of Who we belong to, we would be recognized as nothing more than imposters who boasts a claim to a royal-priesthood without the exercising power and authority of validated relation.
Let us now observe how Kingdom citizens are to think and behave. The proper recognition of a native son or daughter of the King of the Universe is distinctly set apart unto its own realm of validation and power. When you meet a true son or daughter of God, you'll know. Our presence just hits different...

Royalty, Rite, & Resurrection
Our identity in the Kingdom of God is rooted in three key principles:
Royalty – We are sons and daughters of the King of Kings (1 Peter 2:9).
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
There is a balance of boldness and humility that comes with being righteous royalty. Our humility is exhibited in our love, kindness, generosity, long-suffering, and selfless servitude (Philippians 2:14-18). In boldness, we passionately and gently proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will listen, living a lifestyle that verifies our faith as believers. As servant-leaders we identify the ability within ourselves to steward over the realm of influence God has given us to rule, according to His Word.
Rite – We have a rite of passage through Christ’s sacrifice, not a right to His throne (Ephesians 1:11).
“ In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,”
Our rite of passage into the eternal Kingdom of God exists in the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We can surrender our rights, knowing that it is our birthright in Jesus to obtain all that our rite of passage in Him grants us in due time. When we fully accept that God knows best, we can embrace completely the Lord's plan concerning our conformity with the purpose of His perfect will. The fear of missing out or looking foolish is diminished in the truth of Christ.
Believe that you have been chosen, especially selected, hand-picked by the King to serve at His pleasure. We are not the gods of our own lives but serve at the leisure of our Sovereign Lord. He has created us to reign on earth as He reigns in Heaven but only in accordance with His purposed-will. The fulfillment left for us to discover in His courts provides us a rite of passage into His eternal bliss. What more could we possibly hope for or desire?
Resurrection – Jesus died and rose with all power, securing our new life (2 Peter 1:3-4).
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
Participate in the divine nature of Christ’s resurrection on your behalf, knowing it is the duty of all mankind to fear God and keep His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13). The Resurrection of Jesus has given those who believe access to citizenship in His majestic Kingdom. There is no power outside of His divine power that could empower us to live a godly life. Leading a life that is pleasing to a perfect Sovereign is impossible without the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. A fallen humanity could only remain fully corrupted without the precious blood of Jesus to cover over our multitude of sins, cleansing us in His righteousness.
We are called by God's own glory and goodness to reign with Him as recorded in His precious promises. How special should we feel to be loved so deeply by the Creator of all creation that He would rather become a human, wrapped in filthy flesh, and die to cleanse us of our sins, than to allow us no way to be redeemed back into His royal family of co-heirs in the glorification of Christ. In our sufferings alongside Jesus, we can rejoice as believers in receiving the same inheritance and privileges as our Lord and Savior.
Observing the 3 Tenets of a Kingdom Citizen
These 3 tenets of a Kingdom citizen (Royalty, Rite, & Resurrection) make up the 3 essential components of living a Kingdom-minded lifestyle. As a result of the resurrection of Christ, we are given access to eternal life that we must first choose to engage with then enter into. Jesus’ love for us washed our sins away so that we can once again openly commune with Him. He tore the veil that separated us from personally entering into His Edenic presence.
By accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have been granted the rite of passage of sons and daughters of God. This rite of passage into the Kingdom of God is marked by repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and baptism. A believer acknowledges their sin, turns to God in repentance, and places their faith in Christ’s atoning sacrifice and resurrection (Acts 2:38, John 3:3-5).
This spiritual rebirth is sealed by the Holy Spirit, signifying adoption into God's family and entry into His Kingdom (Ephesians 1:13-14). Baptism serves as a public declaration of this transformation, symbolizing dying to the old self and rising in new life with Christ (Romans 6:3-4). A rite of passage is a validated transition that permits us accession into the sacred place of God’s bosom, where we learn Him intimately and confidently.
As royalty, we are given spiritual and natural clearance to freely navigate and exercise authority throughout designated throne rooms and other majestic chambers. Most importantly the throne room of Heaven is available to us for prayer and worship. As God’s possessions, we are to be extensions of His marvelous light and shining virtues. As light bearers of the King of the Universe, our regal vocation is to unite all God’s children of light under the divine banner of His holy nation.

Purpose & Function
Just as a vessel is created with purpose, so are we. Our function is intentionally designed for a specific mission. Ephesians 2:10 affirms that we are God’s workmanship, created for good works that He prepared in advance. Be careful not to lose sight of the artistry by which God embellished you at creation and conception. We are creative because our Creator is creative. The Lord has blessed us with the ingenuity to fulfill our calling in an innovative way that glorifies Him.
In reflecting His imagination, we have so many wonderful ways to maximize our God-given identity within the scope of the Lord’s will and purpose for our lives. If we’re searching for fulfillment in who we are, this is how we do it, by pleasing God and finding pleasure in His ways. This is how discovery in our Creator works out for His glory and our good.

Scripture of Emphasis:
Romans 8:16-17 (NIV)
" The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”
