Welcome to the kingdom citizens blog!
Christ is our mighty Champion and can subdue every crisis we face…
Daily, we face many adversities. Each day has its own resistances but also its triumphs. The victorious mindset is a choice. Even when everything seems to be working against you, remember Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Believing against what’s right in front of you can be difficult, especially in a dark place. However, the Word of God encourages us to remain steadfast and focused on Jesus Christ. Regardless of what adversaries march against us, Christ is the Champion we can fully trust to defend us, especially in our most vulnerable state. (Psalms 34:18)
The What-If's & If-then's
Don’t become obsessed with life's “what-ifs” but remain focused on the “if-thens” of God's Word. Too often we become stifled by the what-if’s we conjure up. Doubtful, worrisome, and fearful faith isn’t faith at all. There are enough stumbling blocks in the world for us to carve out our own. Negative mentalities sabotage our success before the process is even initiated, if initiated at all.
What-if’s can be positive if processed through the proper channels of thinking. However, when what-if’s transition from wise-consideration to anxious bouts of panic, we must recenter our focus on the Lord, Who is more than enough to satisfy all your concerns. The if-then’s of God’s Word gives us guidance in how to behave in our expectations of His momentary interventions.
God's promises are more powerful than fear, anxiety, and worry. There are so many if-then statements all throughout the Bible that should be instruction enough that we are prepared for anything. In many ways, God instructs us in what to do and what not to do, following His instructions with their designated results. In this way we should remain comforted in the purpose of the Lord, concerning us.
Scriptures of comfort & security
When the what-if’s attempt to overpower you, recall the Lord’s if-then’s. God is making a statement, that “if you do this, I will do that.” Take comfort and security in these scriptures, as I encourage you to study further the many more that the Bible has to offer. These biblical testimonials are available for our strengthening and encouragement:
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 12:2
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.
Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Psalms 34:18
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. 18 If your heart is broken, you'll find God right there; if you're kicked in the gut, he'll help you catch your breath.”
Hebrews 12:2-3
“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Mark 6:34
“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.”
Choosing Christ regardless of the Crisis
We are all overwhelmed in different ways. For some it takes more than others but we all have varying tolerance levels when it comes to pressure. Each person’s breaking point is unique their circumstance. The one thing that is common and consistent across the board for all of us is that Jesus understands our carnal sufferings and has overcome them all.
Jesus Christ faced every adversity mankind could experience. In His 33 years on this Earth in flesh and blood, He conquered every temptation. Even when He desired not to experience His crucifixion, He chose to commit to His Father’s will and not His own. I couldn’t even consider how devastating life would be if Jesus had chosen to forego death on the cross. We would have no salvation, no indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and no hope of restoration with the Lord.
Thank God that we don’t have to worry about eternal separation from God! Jesus did commit and follow through with His death and resurrection, interceding on our behalf. Jesus was perfect and without sin but He became sin so that we could be spared of the wrath of God. He did not suffer such a gross and epically horrendous death so that we could torture ourselves with the worries He promised to see us through.
God is with us! It’s that simple. Either we will trust in the Lord or empower our crisis. Let us not grieve the Holy Spirit by rejecting the peace of Christ. Let us not allow our daily issues the ability to abuse our faith in God. Let us trust Christ, our Anointed One, to be the Messiah He is exalted to be. If we choose to obey our convictions in the Holy Spirit, then we have nothing to fear and nothing can condemn us.
If you are attempting to enact your own survival in the strength of your own power and abilities, stop immediately! Jesus Christ is our Champion. If we commit to trusting in Him, regardless of our crisis, then we will certainly discover the potency of His love, care, and might. The Spirit of truth will help you because He dwells in you so you are never without the power and promises of God.
John 14:15-17
“If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
